Eugenics: the word conjures up the macabre image of medical experiments in Nazi Germany to bring about a pure and unsullied "master race." But Hitler's ideas were preceded much earlier by activities in the United States. One of the earliest eugenics laws was passed in 1909 in Califoria. It resulted in the sterilization of over 16,000 "hereditarily diseased offspring."
The radical ideas of liberal eugenicists began in the U.S. They preceded and undergirded the evil philosophy of the Third Reich which murdered not only six million Jews in the death camps but millions of political and religious opponents. The January 1934 Nazi "Law Concerning the Reconstruction of the Reich" (Gesetz über den Neuaufbau des Reiches)was based on a "purified democracy" grounded in "racial foundations." It marked the eugenic foundation of the horrors to come. The far-reaching law referenced the Human Betterment Foundation and the California sterilization program. The Human Betterment Foundation, chartered in 1928, aimed to achieve the "advancement and betterment of human life, character, and citizenship, particularly in the United States of America." (Better for All the World by Harry Bruinius)These ideas fertilized the Nazi eugenicists and helped bring about the holocaust. (The Human Betterment Foundation was dismantled in 1945 and its papers turned over to Cal Tech, but its ideas live on.)
Before Adolf Hitler ever addressed the "Jewish problem" to eliminate the "defective race" he targeted defective Aryans in the population: the retarded, those with physical defects like cleft palate, the mentally ill, etc. Margaret Sanger targeted many of these same "defectives" as well as blacks, Irish-Catholic immigrants, and the poor.
The Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery is currently celebrating American women with a federally-funded exhibit including racist eugenicist Margaret Sanger, our own Adolf Hitler. Sanger believed the purpose of birth control was to breed a master race. She defined those she considered unfit as "human weeds" who "clog up the path." The liberal elitist described charity as "cruel" because it perpetuated the unfit and wanted to create camps to isolate the weeds from the flowers in the human garden. To celebrate this woman's life is like putting up a shrine to Hitler and the Third Reich in the Capitol Rotunda.
American Life League has developed a seven-minute video outing Margaret Sanger as the racist she was and calling for the National Portrait Gallery to remove her from the exhibit. One quote alone is sufficient to justify her removal. In 1932 Sanger Called for a population conference to outline her plan for peace. The primary objective of the conference would be "to apply a stern and rigid policy of sterilization and segregation to that grade of population whose progeny is already tainted, to give certain disgenic groups in our population their choice of segregation or sterilization and to apportion farmlands and homelands for these segregated persons where they would be taught to work under competent instructors for the period of their entire lives."

2nd WI Planned Parenthood Caught Distorting Basic Facts, Manipulating Women
MILWAUKEE, April 12th--A new undercover video reveals medically inaccurate abortion counseling at a tax-funded Milwaukee Planned Parenthood clinic. The video, released by youth-led pro-life group Live Action, records Planned Parenthood staff distorting basic facts of fetal development and pressuring a woman to have an abortion.
In the video, a staffer tells a woman who is reportedly 6 to 8 weeks pregnant that at this stage her baby has "no arms, no legs, no heart no head, no brain." The staffer emphasizes the difficulties of adoption, urges the woman to obtain an abortion as soon as possible, says that images of abortion are fabricated, and states that the unborn child at 6 to 8 weeks has no "identifiable parts" and is just "fetal matter."
A similar video released in December from an Appleton, WI abortion clinic prompted state senator Glenn Grothman to call for an investigation of Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin. Two leading embryologists also denounced Planned Parenthood's counseling, calling it "absurd and scientifically erroneous." Live Action also released a video last February catching Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin failing to comply with mandatory reporting laws for the sexual abuse of a 14 year old girl.
Wisconsin law requires women to receive medically accurate information before obtaining an abortion. The America Medical Association indicates in its Code of Ethics that "the physicians obligation is to present the medical facts accurately to the patient."
Lila Rose, UCLA student and president of Live Action, says the new footage further confirms the deceptive and manipulative practices of Planned Parenthood: "Planned Parenthood has an abortion-first mentality that is driven both by ideology and the desire for money," says Rose. "Since women will often choose against abortion if they learn the scientific facts about the unborn child inside the womb, Planned Parenthood distorts basic facts in an attempt to perform more abortions."
The video is the second in Live Action's "Rosa Acuna Project," a multi-state undercover investigation documenting Planned Parenthood's deceptive abortion counseling. Planned Parenthood, the largest abortion chain in the U.S., has come under fire recently after Live Action's previous investigations found the abortion giant willing to conceal sexual abuse of young girls and accept racist donations earmarked to abort African-American babies.

Star Parker, founder and president of CURE Again, this January 22, hundreds of thousands of pro-life Americans will converge on Washington for the March for Life. The March has taken place every year since 1974 to protest the Supreme Court's Roe v. Wade decision on January 22, 1973, which legalized abortion. Good news for pro-lifers is that 2009 showed evidence of turnaround in national sentiment toward tolerance for abortion. Two Gallup polls, one done in May and one done in August, showed higher percentages identifying as "pro-life" than "pro-choice." The opposite had been true in all previous years since Gallup first started doing this survey in 1995. But the bad news is that another year has gone by as our nation allowed more than a million innocent unborn children to be brutally murdered -- some fifty million since the Roe v. Wade decision in 1973. It somehow doesn't compute that we are horrified watching the bloodbath that has occurred in Haiti, the result of the cold, inscrutable hand of nature. Yet we are willing to tolerate the ongoing holocaust that takes place in our own country -- a holocaust perpetrated by conscious human choice. When I wrote about this last year, President Obama was only a few days past his inauguration. He declined the invitation of March for Lifers to address them, an invitation which his predecessor accepted each year. He only issued a statement noting the Roe v. Wade decision, saying: "... We are reminded that this decision not only protects women's health and reproductive freedom, but stands for a broader principle: that government should not intrude on our most private family matters." So, let's not for a minute lose perspective that this President sees abortion as health care. And let's appreciate the irony that under this President's leadership, we are close to enacting health care legislation that will "intrude on our most private family matters" perhaps more than any legislation in this nation's history. Every American family, and every unmarried American, will be forced to purchase a government designed health insurance policy or pay a fine or go to jail. Constitutional scholars and state attorney generals nationwide are lining up challenging the constitutionality of this legislation. Meanwhile, as Mr. Obama and his Democrat cohorts on Capitol Hill -- alleged champions of "choice" -- engineer this massive government intrusion on how every American chooses to conduct his or her private affairs, they have pushed open the door for federal dollars to pay for abortion. As Dr. Jane Orient, a physician in private practice, and also the Executive Director of the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons writes: "The bills passed by the House and the Senate eliminate a vast array of choices that many Americans prefer, such as low-cost insurance. But the most precious choice they destroy is the right to choose life: the right to choose not to support abortion in any way. Not financially, with taxes or premiums. And not by providing hands, facilities, referrals, prescriptions, or permission to perform or enable this "procedure." Democrats are pushing us in a perverse direction. They want to deny our personal freedoms while expanding our capability to murder our unborn children. When Barack Obama read his Roe v. Wade declaration last January, his approval ratings stood at 70 percent. Today they are barely 50 percent. A new CNN poll shows 48 percent saying that Obama's first year was a failure, 47 percent saying it was a success. Obama is presiding over a deeply divided nation. As Lincoln said, "A House divided against itself cannot stand." Americans have choices to make. On this week of the March for Life, let's recall the words of Deuteronomy: ".....I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live." |

IF YOU'VE HAD AN ABORTION
Feelings of guilt are a miserable and glorious thing, excruciating to bear, but profoundly valuable for what they communicate. They tell us something is wrong, they scream at us that we need to be healed. Guilt is to the soul what physical pain is to the body. We can fight against it (to our own peril!) and pretend that nothing is wrong, or we can listen and seek restoration. We would do well to listen.
While secular reasoning can show us that abortion is unjust, it can do nothing to restore a guilty soul. At the end of the day, humanism is an empty system. It has no answer for guilt, other than to ignore it or pretend it doesn't exist. Psychiatrists may tell you to learn to forgive yourself, but that's like putting a band-aid on cancer. The problem goes much deeper.
The only reason that abortion is wrong, the only reason murder is wrong, the only reason rape and assault is wrong is because human beings are created beings (Genesis 1:27), created by a God who has authority over us and who has communicated the standard by which we are to live (2 Timothy 3:16). And not only has God communicated His expectations through the written word, but also through the internal mechanics of the human conscience. The law of God is written on our hearts, and when we violate that law, we feel it (Romans 2:14,15).
If there were no God, there would be no guilt. If we were truly the random and accidental result of natural processes, there would be no moral authority on our life, there would be no right and wrong. You could murder and pillage to your hearts content and nothing would condemn you. This is what evolution teaches, and while many endorse it in theory, no one can live with it in practice. It is an absurdity. Human beings are not mere animals, we are not amoral beings. We know this from God's Word, and we know this from the internal gnawing of our own soul.
For everyone who has had an abortion, there is only one path to true restoration. It is not in forgiving yourself (something for which you have no authority to do), it is in receiving the forgiveness of God. Since abortion destroys the work of God, it is God alone who can forgive the sin of abortion (or any other sin). While such forgiveness is possible, it does not come cheaply. The wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23). This is what's at stake. We are not just condemned to feelings of guilt (which could be dealt with by suppression), we are condemned to death, and not just physical death, eternal death (Matthew 18:9)! Since God is perfectly just, He cannot leave the guilty unpunished (Exodus 34:7). Therefore, forgiveness can only come if the death we owe is paid by another (Hebrews 9:22). There is only one Man in all of human history who is sufficiently qualified to pay the death we owe. There is only one Man who did not owe a death Himself and could therefore be a substitute for us (Hebrews 4:15). That Man is Jesus Christ, God in human flesh (1 Timothy 3:16).
This is the gospel. The righteousness of Christ is credited to the account of all of us who are united to Him by faith, while our collective unrighteousness is credited to Him and paid for by His death on the cross (I Peter 3:18). The substitutionary death of Jesus Christ is the only means by which God can justly forgive all of us who have trampled upon His glory (Romans 3:26), and the resurrection is our proof that Jesus has conquered death on our behalf (Romans 6:8,9). There is forgiveness in nothing else (Acts 4:12).
We have all treated God's glory as though it were less valuable than our own private preferences, whether it be through abortion or through anything else. We are all equally condemned, we are all equally deserving of death, but we are all offered the same opportunity to be forgiven. How do we receive it? By turning from our sins of the past, confessing that they are wretched and putting all of our hope in Jesus Christ. If you confess Jesus with your mouth, and believe with your heart, His righteousness becomes yours (Romans 10:9).
Pastor John Piper tells us that, "No one is cut off from Christ because of past sin - any past sin. What cuts a person off from Christ and the fellowship of his people is the endorsement of past sin. For the repentant there is forgiveness and cleansing and hope." II Corinthian 7:9,10 reads as follows:
