Now that the Obama administration has decided to double-down on health care and demand passage of the Senate version of ObamaCare...and the White House has set a timeline of two weeks to get it done...it's safe to say that we're about to see some of the most severe arm twisting in political history.

In fact, if you thought it looked bad the first time around, (when the House version passed by only 3 votes, and the Senate version passed that chamber by the bare minimum), you haven't seen anything yet.

Why is that?  Because the Democrats decided to forget about a conference committee, (the usual process of ironing out differences between House and Senate bills), and push the existing Senate bill through the House.  The problem is that it must be passed WITHOUT any amendments or changes whatsoever.  This is because, if it is changed, the Senate would have to approve it all over again...and this time there are 41 Republicans, (thanks to Scott Brown's win in Massachusetts), that can sustain a filibuster... As we move into what should be the final (and most important) phase of the debate over ObamaCare, it's of course critical that members of Congress hear from as many of their constituents as possible.

      A California Mayor is in the crosshairs of a Muslim group
      for making a reference to his "Christian community" in a
      speech. See the alarming details below.    --Mat

Rex Harris, the mayor of Lancaster, California, recently told a
group of Christian ministers, "We are growing a Christian community
-- and don't let anybody shy away from that."

Little did Mayor Harris know that his words would be tested
almost immediately!

First, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) filed a
federal civil rights complaint alleging that the mayor had
violated the civil rights of all non-Christians in his message.

CAIR, which has been investigated for providing funds that promoted
terrorism, further contends that the Mayor used his official
capacity to "promote religion."

But it gets worse...

Despite a sincere formal apology by the Mayor, the Antelope
Valley Human Relations Task Force has launched an additional
investigation. They say that they have the authority to deem
an incident like this one a "hate crime" or "hate incident,"
which is now a federal crime!

++It's "Open Season" on Christians

We cautioned months ago that the passage of a "Hate Crimes" bill
would be the launching pad to overt censorship and even the
criminalization of innocent public expressions of Christian
faith.

That is exactly what is happening to Mayor Harris! And this
unfolding incident in California is just the beginning...

Liberty Counsel is monitoring similar cases across the nation,
and we anticipate that attacks against Christians will intensify
in the days and weeks ahead.  Already, we are hearing of legal
battles taking place in Michigan, Maryland, and other states.

       We are not surprised - this is the very outcome that

At least some of them don't appear to have learned much...or maybe they just don't want to give anyone the satisfaction of acting as though there was anything to learn. 

David Axelrod stated: "I think that it would a terrible mistake to walk
away now. If we don't pass the bill, all we have is the stigma of a
caricature that was put on it. That would be the worst result for
everybody who has supported this bill."  In other words, they need to push it in order to get rid of the bad taste everyone has in their mouths about it?  (Wouldn't want that bad taste lingering 'til November?)

Spokesman Robert Gibbs was still full speed ahead, suggesting that they wouldn't "...abandon our pursuit on things that are important to the middle
class."

As for the folks in the press, the Boston Globe doesn't appear to have learned much eaither, saying that Brown's win didn't "negate the
resounding mandate that President Obama and Democrats in Congress
received in 2008 to address escalating health costs."

Several years ago, in the United States Capitol Building, Christian Coalition of America's (CCA) president, Roberta Combs, was part of a national press conference with the current Republican Leader of the United States Senate, Senator Mitch McConnell from Kentucky, opposing the newly-passed "Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act (BCRA) of 2002."  In addition, one of the top officials of the liberal American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) argued against the new law.   

The BCRA prohibited so-called "soft money" which are unregulated contributions to the Republican, Democratic and other political parties.  Independent grassroots organizations, such as the Christian Coalition of America, which do not specifically advocate the election or defeat of candidates, and have not contributed directly to candidate campaigns were prohibited from offering the political parties "soft money."   The bill was actually passed by a Republican-controlled Congress and signed into law by Republican President George W. After President Obama devoted much of 2009 to health care and global warming—two issues far down Americans' list of concerns—the White House says he will pivot to jobs and deficit reduction in his State of the Union speech in a few weeks. The White House is considering dramatic gestures, perhaps announcing a spending freeze or even a 2% or 3% reduction in nondefense spending.

But Americans shouldn't be misled by the election year ploy: Mr. Obama rigged the game by giving himself plenty of room to look tough on spending. He did that by increasing discretionary domestic spending for the last half of fiscal year 2009 by 8% and then increasing it another 12% for fiscal year 2010.

WSJ: VOTER ANGER IS BUILDING OVER DEFICITS

After engineering an unprecedented spending surge for nearly a year, President Barack Obama now wants to signal that he takes deficits seriously. So this week the White House announced that it is considering creating a commission to figure how to fix the budget mess.

Eureka!

Well, almost. What seems to concern the president is not the problem runaway spending poses for taxpayers and the economy. Rather, what bothers him is the political problem it poses for Democrats.
