Al Gore takes aim at climate change skeptics

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Former Vice President Al Gore took aim at skeptics who doubt the reality of human-caused climate change, saying he wished it were an illusion but that the problem is real and urgent.

Gore, who has made the fight against climate change his signature issue since leaving the White House in 2001, specifically addressed challenges to the accuracy of findings by the U.N. Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.

"I, for one, genuinely wish that the climate crisis were an illusion," Gore wrote in an op-ed piece in The New York Times.

"But unfortunately, the reality of the danger we are courting has not been changed by the discovery of at least two mistakes" in reports by the U.N. Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.

Climate change skeptics have pointed to errors in the panel's landmark 2007 report -- an overestimate of how fast Himalayan glaciers would melt in a warming world and incorrect information on how much of the Netherlands is below sea level -- as signs that the report's basic conclusions are flawed.

Death toll hits 52 as storms lash Europe

DAVE CLARK

March 1, 2010 - 7:24AM

Hurricane-force winds, surging seas and driving rain lashed western Europe on Sunday, leaving at least 52 people dead and more than a million households without power.

Dubbed "Xynthia", the Atlantic storm crashed against the western coasts of France and Spain overnight, bringing with it a band of foul weather stretching from Portugal to the Netherlands and inland as far as Germany.

The bulk of the casualties were in France, where gusts of 150 kilometres per hour (93 mph) and eight metre (26 foot) waves battered the west coast, flooding inland and sending residents scurrying onto rooftops.

Prime Minister Francois Fillon said France would formally declare the storm a natural disaster, thus freeing up funds to help communities rebuild.

Texas Is Challenging The EPA’s Ability To Regulate CO2- posted by Flyboy84
Texas is stepping up to the plate for a swing at the EPA. Texas says the EPA's research should be discounted because it was conducted by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, which shared the Nobel Peace Prize with former Vice President Al Gore in 2007 for its work on climate change but has since been embarrassed by errors and irregularities in its reports. Outstanding. I hope other states join in!

Glenn Beck: No consensus?

Global warming dominated the headlines this weekend and that's not a good thing for the alarmists. Some of the prominent scientists in the warming community are saying, among other things, that there is actually no consensus. Kind of an important detail there, don't ya think? It's all falling apart for the alarmists, but that's not stopping the Cap and Tax bill from moving forward. Glenn explains on today’s radio program.  Transcript

Large snowflakes fell heavily across North Texas shattering the previous all-time one-day record. Dallas/Fort Worth received 12.5 inches of snow in a 24-hour period. Schools were closed in the Florida Panhandle and Alabama. For the first time all fifty states including Hawaii have had some level of snow this year, Sean said. The IPCC the body widely regarded, until now, as the ultimate authority on climate science is looking worse and worse. They recently had to retract its claim about melting glaciers. New evidence now shows other IPCC claims to be just as groundless. Then there were the Climategate emails. This is what happens when science becomes politicized and the governments goal is to control you, Sean concluded.

Glenn Beck: Eco-alarmists in full spin mode

Considering nearly all of America is seeing snow, with some parts getting absolutely pounded, the global warming alarmists are in full spin mode. Howard Dean, among others, are attacking 'skeptics' by saying one bout of snow doesn't disprove global warming. Why doesn't that 'science' hold up? From Franklin Graham’s letter

Just a few weeks ago, President Obama and other world leaders went to Copenhagen for a United Nations climate summit, where the topic of global warming took center stage. I think all of us would certainly agree that steps can be taken to preserve the fragile environment we live in. What is happening, however, in gatherings like this is frightening to me. A legitimate concern for the stewardship of our resources has been replaced by a radical, godless worldview that elevates the creation to idolatrous status.

COPENHAGEN: AFRICAN DICTATORS DEMAND "DEMOCRACY"

Published on DickMorris.com on December 15, 2009

The Copenhagen conference on climate change, held amid record low freezing temperatures that are blanketing Europe, was shattered by a walkout by the G-77 nations, the bloc of "developing" countries that spans from China to Chad.  Their demand?  More "democracy and transparency" in the negotiations!  They also want massive American and European aid under the guise of helping them adjust to climate change.

Dictators from Bejing to Africa are united in their demand for more "democracy" at the conference and are all deeply disturbed that Copenhagen may not turn out to be payday for which they had all hoped.

Former U.N. Ambassador John Bolton has called the climate change issue, a "pretext for a massive redistribution of wealth from the developed nations to the less developed ones."   That's what the African and Asian dictators are hoping for.

Like anti-poverty storefronts in Harlem that change to drug rehab projects and then morph into stimulus programs, the less developed nations are now hanging out the climate change sign in the hopes of getting aid.

The fact is that almost all the increase in greenhouse gases over the next two decades is going to come from developing countries, principally China and India.  As noted in an earlier column, the United States is doing quite well, without a new treaty and without cap and trade, on lowering its emissions to the level demanded by the Kyoto Agreement and the goal set by President Obama.   It is about halfway toward each.

But the developing countries are hoping to make a killing in Copenhagen, getting a treaty that does not bind them to specific enforceable goals (and no inspections) while giving them money to accomplish the climate change goals.  Money without responsibility suits them fine.

Just as climate change is being hijacked in developed countries by socialists and liberals who want to regulate business and utilities, so it is being exploited by less developed countries as a pretext for more foreign aid.

China, in particular, won't allow any international monitoring of its compliance with the climate change goals.  This refusal is giving Democratic trade protectionists the cover they need to raise tariff barriers on imports from abroad.  Yet again, climate change is being hijacked by partisans of a particular persuasion - protectionists - to suit their goals.

Meanwhile, most voters in the U.S. are far from convinced that climate change is happening as a result of human activity and there is no broad consensus behind any of the regulatory changes being pushed in Copenhagen.  That's the surprise awaiting Obama when he returns, treaty in hand.

LETS FIND OUT IF AL GORE IS PAYING TAXES!

A QUOTE FROM BILL O'REILLY

However, you should know that Al Gore and others attached to the warming industry are making tens of millions of dollars by investing in companies trading in new technologies. There is big money in play here as governments are paying billions to clean up dirty industries. T. Boone Pickens has invested big money in wind energy. While that's nice, I do believe the savvy Mr. Pickens wants a return on his investment.

The recent scandal involving British warming researchers burying facts that challenge climate change is disturbing. And now we have one of America's best hurricane forecasters, Dr. William Gray, saying the fix is in: "There has been an unrelenting quarter-century of one-sided indoctrination of the western world by the media and various scientists and governments concerning a carbon dioxide induced global warming disaster...

"[This is] but the tip of a giant iceberg of a well organized international climate warming conspiracy..."

Alex Jones: Secret Copenhagen Documents Leaked 2/2

Alex Jones Breaks Down World Government Takeover

In Alex's second special message about Climategate, the UN Climate Change Conference at Copenhagen and the Global Takeover, he analyzes the leaked documents in a draft of the treaty that expose the true intentions of the meeting-- to shut down development in the Third World and dominate the planet through a carbon tax.

Alex also exposes President Obama's cynical move to have the EPA declare CO2 to be a danger-- in the face of logic and common sense. Through this designation, regulation could be implemented in the name of cutting emissions even if the Senate were to fail to ratify the Copenhagen treaty, which Obama is expected to sign.

Further, Alex points out that this scheme is just the implementation of a larger-scale plan to de-industrialize the already developed world and maintain control over the emerging spheres-- from Maurice Strong to Paul Ehrlich & now-Science Czar John P. Holdren, top globalists have targeted human activity as a negative and implemented eugenics policies to breakdown mankind's natural order.

"Climategate" Hurricane Expert Rips Climate Fears

By: Dr. William Gray    DECEMBER 9th 2009

The following commentary is from Atmospheric Scientist and Hurricane forecasting specialist Dr. William Gray. Gray is the renowned hurricane forecaster and Emeritus Professor of Atmospheric Science at Colorado State University (CSU) and originally published this artiucle on ClimateDepot.com.

Had I not devoted my entire career of more than half a century to the study and forecasting of meteorological and climate events, I would have likely been concerned over the possibility of humans causing serious global climate degradation.

There has been an unrelenting quarter century of one-sided indoctrination of the Western world by the media and by various scientists and governments concerning a coming carbon dioxide (CO2) induced global warming disaster. These warming scenarios have been orchestrated by a combination of environmentalists, vested interest scientists wanting larger federal grants and publicity, the media which profits from doomsday scenario reporting, governmental bureaucrats who want more power over our lives, and socialists who want to level-out global living standards. These many alarmist groups appear to have little concern over whether their global warming prognostications are accurate, however. And they most certainly are not. The alarmists believe they will be able to scare enough of our citizens into believing their propaganda that the public will be willing to follow their advice on future energy usage and agree to a lowering of their standard of living in the name of climate salvation.

Rising levels of CO2 are not near the threat these alarmists have portrayed them to be. There has yet to be a honest and broad scientific debate on the basic science of CO2's influence on global temperature. The global climate models predicting large amounts of global warming for a doubling of CO2 are badly flawed. They should never have been used to establish government climate policy.

The last century's global warming of about 1 degree Fahrenheit is not a consequence of human activities. This warming is primarily the result of a multi-century changes in the globe's deep ocean circulation. These ocean current changes have lead to a small and gradual increase in the globe's temperature. We are coming out of the Little Ice Age and into a generally warmer climate state. This is akin to the warmer global climate of the Medieval Period. We can do nothing but adapt to such long period natural temperature changes.

The recent "Climategate" revelations coming out of the University of East Anglia are but the tip of a giant iceberg of a well organized international climate warming conspiracy that has been gathering momentum for the last 25 years. This conspiracy would become much more manifest if all the e-mails of the publically funded climate research groups of the US and of foreign governments were ever made public.

The disastrous economic consequences of restricting CO2 emissions from the present by as much as 20 percent by 2020 and 80 percent by 2050 (as being proposed in Copenhagen) have yet to be digested by the general public. Such CO2 output decreases would cause very large increases in our energy costs, a lowering of our standard of living, and do nothing of significance to improve our climate.

The cap-and-trade bill presently before Congress, the likely climate agreements coming out of the Copenhagen Conference, and the EPA's just announced decision to treat CO2 as a pollutant represents a grave threat to the industrial world's continued economic development. We should not allow these proposals to restrict our economic growth. Any United Nations climate bill our country might sign would act as an infringement on our country's sovereignty.

GLOBAL WARMING BAH HUMMBUG

Warming Establishment Crumbles: More than 140 scientists challenge UN's climate claims in open letter

Open Letter to Secretary-General of United Nations

His Excellency Ban Ki Moon

Secretary-General, United Nations

New York, NY

United States of America

8 December 2009

Dear Secretary-General,

Climate change science is in a period of ‘negative discovery’ - the more we learn about this exceptionally complex and rapidly evolving field the more we realize how little we know. Truly, the science is NOT settled.

Therefore, there is no sound reason to impose expensive and restrictive public policy decisions on the peoples of the Earth without first providing convincing evidence that human activities are causing dangerous climate change beyond that resulting from natural causes. Before any precipitate action is taken, we must have solid observational data demonstrating that recent changes in climate differ substantially from changes observed in the past and are well in excess of normal variations caused by solar cycles, ocean currents, changes in the Earth's orbital parameters and other natural phenomena.

We the undersigned, being qualified in climate-related scientific disciplines, challenge the UNFCCC and supporters of the United Nations Climate Change Conference to produce convincing OBSERVATIONAL EVIDENCE for their claims of dangerous human-caused global warming and other changes in climate. Projections of possible future scenarios from unproven computer models of climate are not acceptable substitutes for real world data obtained through unbiased and rigorous scientific investigation.

Specifically, we challenge supporters of the hypothesis of dangerous human-caused climate change to demonstrate that:

  1. Variations in global climate in the last hundred years are significantly outside the natural range experienced in previous centuries;
  2. Humanity’s emissions of carbon dioxide and other ‘greenhouse gases’ (GHG) are having a dangerous impact on global climate;
  3. Computer-based models can meaningfully replicate the impact of all of the natural factors that may significantly influence climate;
  4. Sea levels are rising dangerously at a rate that has accelerated with increasing human GHG emissions, thereby threatening small islands and coastal communities;
  5. The incidence of malaria is increasing due to recent climate changes;
  6. Human society and natural ecosystems cannot adapt to foreseeable climate change as they have done in the past;
  7. Worldwide glacier retreat, and sea ice melting in Polar Regions , is unusual and related to increases in human GHG emissions;
  8. Polar bears and other Arctic and Antarctic wildlife are unable to adapt to anticipated local climate change effects, independent of the causes of those changes;
  9. Hurricanes, other tropical cyclones and associated extreme weather events are increasing in severity and frequency;
  10. Data recorded by ground-based stations are a reliable indicator of surface temperature trends.

It is not the responsibility of ‘climate realist’ scientists to prove that dangerous human-caused climate change is not happening. Rather, it is those who propose that it is, and promote the allocation of massive investments to solve the supposed ‘problem’, who have the obligation to convincingly demonstrate that recent climate change is not of mostly natural origin and, if we do nothing, catastrophic change will ensue. To date, this they have utterly failed to do so.

Welcome

CREATING THE BLESSING

Bring all the tithes, into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house, and prove Me now in this, Says the Lord of hosts, "If I will not open for you the windows of heaven, And pour out for you such blessing, that there will not be room enough to receive it."  " And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, So that he will not destroy the fruit of your ground, Nor shall the vine fail to bear fruit for you in the field."  Says the Lord of hosts.
